Scheduling & Eligibility

The Process

The practical test process is designed to confirm availability, verify eligibility, and give each applicant clear expectations before test day.

01

Complete the Start the Process form

The process begins by clicking on the Start the Process button. This allows us to determine whether we can establish a mutually agreeable timeframe for your appointment and confirm that I am authorized to conduct the requested practical test or administrative function.

At this stage, we will discuss general availability, the type of test or service requested, and any scheduling considerations.

02

Provide Applicant and Aircraft Information

Once initial eligibility and scheduling availability have been confirmed, you will be asked to provide additional details related to the applicant, aircraft, and requested appointment.

  • Pilot certificate information
  • FTN number
  • Airplane make and model
  • Aircraft N-number
  • Requested certificate or rating
  • Other applicable appointment details

Providing accurate and complete information early in the process helps ensure that your appointment can proceed smoothly and without unnecessary delays.

03

Receive Appointment Confirmation

After the required information has been reviewed, you will receive an appointment confirmation identifying the specific week your test or administrative task is scheduled to occur.

For practical tests or administrative functions scheduled less than one month in advance, a specific test date will typically be assigned at the time of confirmation.

Your confirmation email will also include a request for additional documents and information that must be submitted at least one week prior to the appointment.

04

Submit Required Documents

The additional documents requested will vary based on the practical test or administrative function, but may include items needed to establish eligibility.

  • Instructor endorsements
  • Relevant logbook pages
  • FAA Airman Knowledge Test Report
  • Government-issued photo identification
  • IACRA application information
  • Aircraft documentation
  • Other required eligibility items
05

Eligibility Review

Once the required documents have been submitted, I will review them to confirm that you are eligible for the requested practical test or administrative task.

This review helps identify and resolve any issues before the appointment date, reducing the likelihood of delays, discontinuances, or rescheduling.

Applicants are encouraged to carefully review all requested materials and ensure that all records, endorsements, and documentation are complete prior to submission.

06

Scenario Assignment

For practical tests, and assuming all eligibility requirements have been satisfied, a scenario will be assigned a few days prior to the appointment.

Applicants should review and prepare for the assigned scenario in advance, as it will form the basis for portions of the practical test and discussion during the examination process.

The goal of this preparation is to support a realistic, scenario-based evaluation consistent with current ACS standards and practical decision-making principles.

Important Scheduling Note

Submitting the Start the Process form does not guarantee an appointment. Appointments are confirmed only after availability, authorization, applicant information, and required scheduling details have been reviewed.
