Practical test fees are based on the certificate or rating sought and any travel requirements involved. Current standard fees are listed below.
Practical Test Fees
Retests & Discontinuances
Retests or discontinuances are generally billed at one-half of the original practical test fee, provided the retest is completed within the applicable retest window.
Administrative Functions
In addition to practical tests, I am authorized to provide the following administrative examiner functions for Airplane Single Engine Land (ASEL):
- Foreign Pilot Examiner
- Military Competency Examiner
- Ground Instructor Examiner
- Flight Instructor Renewal Examiner
- Basic Administrative Examiner

Local Service Area
While I am based out of Somerset Airport (SMQ), I can also conduct practical tests at the following airports with no additional travel fee, by prior arrangement:
- Somerset Airport (SMQ) Preferred location
- Solberg Airport (N51)
- Central Jersey Airport (47N)
- Morristown Airport (MMU)
Travel Outside the Area
If you are located outside the local area, feel free to contact me. In many cases, additional travel can be arranged depending on schedule and location.
Scheduling & Cancellation
Checkrides are scheduled directly with me and are based on applicant readiness, aircraft availability, weather, and scheduling availability.
If you need to cancel or reschedule, please provide as much notice as possible so the appointment time may be offered to another applicant. In many cases, wait times for new checkride appointments can be lengthy.

Accepted payment methods will be discussed during scheduling so expectations are clear prior to checkride day.
